This & That, Thanksgiving 2021

Happy Thanksgiving Day. Unlike some holidays, Thanksgiving is the last Thursday in November and can fall on different dates but always on Thursday.

Happy Birthday to Mr. E. O. “June” Roberts on Nov. 25th, Thanksgiving Day this year, and he will be 102 years young.

Then on Dec. 2, Mrs. Olene Durham” Burwell will also be 102 years young. Happy Birthday to you, “Olene”!

These two centurions are both residents of Oak Manor Nursing Center in Booneville.

Only 36 days now until Christmas. So the race is on to get your shopping done. This year has passed quickly, and the New Year starts in about 38 days.

“Shop With A Cop” fundraiser is set for Tuesday, Dec. 7th, at City Hall in Booneville. This is 11am – 1pm, Chili & Fixins’ for $7.

Following our recent freeze, the leaves of my maple tree started “snowing” down, leaving it almost bare. This was Nov. 19. I had noticed that my tree was bare on Nov. 6 last year, so I don’t know if it was late this year or last year was early? Only “Mother Natures” knows the answer to that, and the Good Lord, of course.

Happy “Late” Birthday to Hayden Slusher who was 8 on Sunday, Nov. 21st.

Roberts on Nov. 25, to Janette Kirbo and Brandon Farley both on Nov. 26, to Annetta on Nov. 27, to Molly Holbrook on the 28th, to Kevin Rice and Chandra Harger both on Nov. 30, to Rachel Reed, Amelia Ashley, and Taten Rice all on Dec. 1, to Pat McConnell on Dec. 2, to Olene Duram and my daughter Jennifer Reid both on Dec. 3rd, to Richard Behler and Boyd Dan Hicks on Dec. 4., to Kenneth Westmoreland on Dec. 5th, and Brett Cook on Dec. 6. We wish you all many more.

Happy Anniversary to my daughter and husband Julie and Tim Golden on Nov. 26, #32. We wish you many more.

The death Angel visited Magazine again and took James Vernon “Buddy” Johnson Sr. Funeral service was Thursday, Nov. 18, at First Baptist Church in Magazine. Our sympathy to all his family and friends.

Trivia: The average worker bee produced 1/12 of a teaspoon of honey in its lifetime, which lasts about four to five weeks. (Arkansas Living, Sept. 2012).
