Judge Joseph Wood for Arkansas Lt. Governor
Judge Joseph Wood for Lt. Governor
Why voters should cast their ballots for me?
I am the candidate fighting for what’s possible for all Arkansans!
The Lieutenant Governor's primary role is to preside over the Arkansas Senate and be ready on day one to assume the role of Governor. Currently serving as the chief executive officer/governor of one of the largest counties in Arkansas and one of the fastest growing in the country - I am uniquely qualified with both private and public sector executive experience. I am doing the work now and prepared for the role with proven results.. My experience as County Judge is the role most like a Governor. Every day I lead by casting a vision to develop great leaders delivering great service. I work daily to execute County business plans while being a good steward of the budget. Cutting $1 million from my budget my first year in office to cutting $750K, my second year is being a good fiscal conservative. Establishing our NWA Crisis Stabilization Unit, I work with law enforcement to provide them an option for diverting our citizens facing mental health crisis instead of jail. During tornadoes, Razorback home football games or even Garth Brooks concerts, I am responsible for emergency services and public safety. I declare an emergency so our teams can engage emergency service crews and law enforcement officers from other jurisdictions and counties to ensure public safety. The dynamic growth in the region places additional responsibility for building and maintaining the infrastructure. Serving veterans and their families is another charge I take seriously. We now serve thousands in partnership with other veteran service organizations serving our military families. We are also building affordable apartments for veterans called Patriot Park. It will be the first built in Arkansas and one of four in the country.
While there is more, this is what I do daily. Lead employees and improve services to taxpayers, sets me apart from others.
Top priorities I would have are what I am doing now and will continue to focus on as Lt. Governor:
1. Protection of children from the preborn, children in foster care to supporting juvenile justice reform.
2. Economic Development/Growth.
3. Education - school choice and trade ensuring a ready workforce which is critical for economic development.
4. Veteran care for our military and their families. Namely suicide and mental health.
I am doing the work now and prepared and ready to have Arkansas be an exemplary State in leadership and opportunity. I have the results, the proven record and the heart to be your next Lieutenant Governor of Arkansas. I humbly ask for your vote. Blessings.
